1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, work in a similar way. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are first-party cookies. Cookies set by another company's service are third-party cookies. Some cookies last only until you close your browser (session cookies), while others remain until they expire or you delete them (persistent cookies).
2. How we use cookies
We group cookies into three categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are used by default. Everything else waits for your permission.
| Category | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choices and protects the Site from abuse. The Site can't work properly without these. | Always on |
| Analytics | Helps us understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how people find the Site. | Off until you allow it |
| Marketing | Measures the performance of our advertising on other websites. Under some US state laws this may count as "sharing" or "selling" personal information. | Off until you allow it |
3. Cookies we use
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
rp_consent | roadster-presale.us (first party) | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie choices and whether your browser sent a Global Privacy Control signal. | 180 days |
Our hosting provider may set short-lived security cookies to protect the Site from bots and attacks. These are strictly necessary and are not used to track you.
As of the date of this policy, the Site does not use any analytics or marketing cookies. If we add them, they will be listed in the table above before they are used, and they will only be set after you allow the relevant category.
4. Other technologies
Web fonts. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google's servers to download them, which means Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. According to Google, the Google Fonts API does not set cookies. See Google's Fonts privacy FAQ.
Local storage. The Site does not currently use local storage or session storage to store personal information.
Email. Program update emails, which you receive only if you opt in, may contain a small image that tells us whether the email was opened. Most email apps let you block images to prevent this.
5. Managing your choices
- On this Site: open at any time (the link is also in the footer of every page) to change your choices.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Marketing cookies stay off for that browser.
- In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies means we can't remember your choices, so the cookie banner will appear on each visit.
- Industry opt-outs: you can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
If you withdraw consent, we stop setting the affected cookies from that point. Cookies already set can be removed through your browser settings.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy whenever we add, remove or change a cookie, and change the "Last updated" date above. If we add a new category of optional cookies, we will ask for your consent again.
